MEAKIM SPINS A VICTORY FOR THE CYCLONES

 

George Meakim tossed a 5 hit complete game to lead the Cyclones to their 1st victory in this series. The Bridegroom defense had 6 errors as Adonis Terry took the loss despite not allowing an earned run.

With the score tied at 1in the 7th, Tim Shinnick reached on an error by Adonis Terry. Shinnick stole 2nd and scored on a 1 out single from Phil Tomney. Tomney scored on a sac fly from Jack Ryan. George Meakim helped his cause with a 2 out single. He stole 2nd, and advanced on a throwing error from Doc Bushong.  Jack Taylor tripled off the center field wall to drive in the 3rd run of the inning. Meakim retired the last 8 batters he faced to secure the victory.
