Les McNeese was my great uncle. Im very fortunate to see his name and knowing he was a huge part in Olympic history. there is a book that I recently saw with the Olympic sports mention in it but i don't remember the authors name i do know the author is a female and she resides in Fla. i think the name of her book was sports revisited? Any info on the name of the book or authors name would be fantastic! we are very proud family to have someone who was a huge part of sports history!! There is a sports museum in Dade county fla which has his Olympic baseball memorabilia on hand.

Great show! I was only seven or eight when it originally aired, but I fed greatly on the excitement of my older brother, Gary, who was about 12 at the time, and an avid baseball maven just about from birth! It was a wonderful treat to see the players up close, most of them young and vigorous and around their prime. And it was a great boost in stirring my baseball interest, learning a ton of facts from my brother, about each of those great players, as the cameras focused on just two of them at a time, while they teed off on those baseballs. Home runs have been the most thrilling and most impacting moments so many a great game, and series. And players DID identify with their team back then; in the days well before free agency.
If there were items to complain about, it's definitely that no new host was brought in, to continue the show, after Mark Scott's very sad and untimely demise. Just noting the annual HR derby at the all star break nowadays is proof enough of its guaranteed popularity.
Also, some of the short chats with the players might well have been worked on a bit.

But, a great show it was, indeed!
